baby bellies!

My first babies are due in 2 weeks. It's rather bittersweet, though... They're out of my american alpine does that are CAE positive; immediately after the second one kids I plan on butchering them both.

I felt babies in the younger doe today, and it just made me all excited. I loved on the does for a while, which I hadn't done in long time because I'm trying to distance myself from them. Every time I spend time with them I try to think of a way that I would be able to run two herds and keep them around... but its not feasible at this time in my life to keep them or to sell them.

I told them that I expect triplets out of each of them: Two doelings and an excellent buckling out of the older doe, and Triplet doelings out of the younger. Now watch; I'll get all bucklings. hehe.

Donna you have much more guts than I do...I don't know if I could put one of my girls down if they turned up CAE positive but then again I haven't been in that position yet (thankfully).

I wanted to comment and say how much you have grown back from when I first "met" you on this forum. I don't always post much her but am lurking around a lot. You have done so well with your herd and have grown in leaps and bounds with your goats. So from one youngin (20yr old almost 21yrs) GOOD JOB!

Sorry I just wanted to say that....you have come very far in your goat knowledge and it has been so great watching you grow and learn more. Sounds weird for me to say that to someone who isn't much younger than me LOL...so kudos Donna!
