Can someone look at these ligament pics, what do you think?

This doe was supposively bred 9/19 which puts her due date at 2/15. I got her at the beginning of Jan. Since she has not kidded I called the breeder (my daughter's 4H leader who has been doing dairy goats for many years) and asked her about the date. She said she really thought she was bred 9/19 but did stay in with the buck and maybe the breeding took place after that? Anyway, these are what her ligaments have been like for five days or so. Is this what they are supposed to be like when they are withing 12 hours of kidding or do you think they can go looser?

She is two (three this spring), second breeding. She kidded out twins last year with no assistance. No udder, no goo. She is on 3lbs alfalfa pellets, 1/2 lb whole oats, and free choice grass hay daily.

How long was she in with the buck. Apparently she wasn't bred on the 19th, so I would start counting from 21 days after that?

She doesn't look anywhere near ready to drop kids...Her hips aren't jacked up, the tail head isn't clearly visiable and the ligs are nowhere near the typical sunk in position. Sure does have a big belly though....Unless she changes dramatically soon there is no way she resembles a doe ready to deliver.

Before kidding my does get a sunk in look at the hips, and the topline of the back will change drastically. She appears to have a ways to go yet. I agree with Trey, start counting 21 days.

Whew, thanks everyone! You have made me much more relieved. She was in with the Nov. and Dec. so definitely could have missed the heat cycle and was bred the next one. She said she saw action the 19th but perhaps didn't take? I'll count 21 days from that time and will start looking then. I can finally sleep again!

It looks like you're pinching lower than where the ligaments should be. You can wrap your fingers around low on the tail bone there to some degree whether or not the doe has lost ligaments. Try here:
