Question Anyone With Fainting Goats? (Myotonics)

I have a small herd here in Northern Illinois and I have another 3 bucklings and 5 does comming March 15th. Then I will have 4 bucks, and 10 does. Kidding season starts in Mid APril here and I have 5 does that are kidding. I also have Dairy / Fainter crosses and they are all due in Mid APril also. The farm family is growning by the month! Anyone else out there with Fainters?

Myotonics

Hi and welcome
I have a buck that is full myotonic and he is a premium fainter. I have two does that are 1/2 mytonic and 1/2 boer. I have bred him to both of them. I will have some babies this April. I just love my little girls, I have had them for 18 months now. They were about 3 - 4 months old when I got them and their mother, who is full boer.

I am in Central IL. We have a long haired fainter buck and two short haired does. Mine all came from a breeder in Northern IL. Where exactly are you located? Feel free to PM me if you like.

Take care,
Jeff

Coondog, As with everything they get comfortable around the farm and then they dont "faint" as often. I can run after them and a few might stiffen up and the others will run but if I drop a feed pan on accident and it is a loud sound, they will all be on the ground with the feet in the air! Different things make diffrent ones "faint" They are GREAT on fences tho, never stand on them or challenge them like dairy goats do. I have a few that are dairy crosses and they still have the tendancy to challenge the fences. All my fainters can NOT step over a 2 foot high fence surrounding the gate or they will fall over. Makes for containing them easy. I have had most of them since birth so all are very close to me. I'm always looking for new blood to the herd if anyone has any for sale. I an not looking for anymore crosses tho... Anyone???
