finally got a kid fix this week

10lb single doeling today. good grief, she drove me nuts, hollering for two whole days and "searching". I was sure she would go friday night. this A.M. she was frantically looking in every nook and cranny and seemed very leary of me which is unusual, and at 9:30 started some very intermintent pushing. I helped pull the doe at around 10. my 3yr old daughter named her Butterspoon. the "butter" name is very fitting she is soft, fat and thick and richly colored!

this 7.5 lb little girl was born thursday night. her dam talked all day and then laid down on me and pushed the baby out without a peep. Named (also by my daughter) Elfmate. she has a brother but no cute pics or names for him, he is destined for the table. I tried to ease the idea to my little girl when she tried to name him, telling her that we were to sell him and he doesn't get a name. she said she didn't want to sell him!! I say "sorry honey we can't keep him". then she said " I don't wanna sell him......I wanna eat him"

Hey, just so you know, if you tape the ear right away, it will stay down after about a week. I use thick bandage tape or thinner stuff with cardboard.
Cute kids

thanks for the suggestion. I can't decide what to do about them if anything. they are not just folded, they are fused together and I tugged real hard and couldn't get them loose. I was afraid that the pressure I was having to apply to detach them would damage the tissue on either side that I was holding bcause I was squeezing so hard. I couldn't keep my grip on the ear I was pulling so hard! I can't imagine using pliers to grab them without damaging them, even if I padded them. I think they are kinda cute so I will probably let them be. I thought maybe as she grows and develops a bit more cartilage in her ears it may not be so obvious. if not oh well, it will just be one of her features, and she will probably always be reffered to as "the one with the folded ears"

I know what you mean, they do seem stuck sometimes. I guess I just keep slowly working it until it comes down enough to tape. Not pulling it down so much as working it apart. They will sometimes keep a wrinkle in the ear even with the taping.
After the first day, they will no longer come down so it will stay that way now. No harm.
