How long?

My mom posted on the other thread that the doe in question of CL turned out positive (thank goodness the breeder took her back!).
We our planning on testing the whole herd again to make sure she did not give it to anyone(We do not think she did).
I was wondering how long I should wait until we test everyone? How long does it take to incubate?
We our getting another goat soon(Thank you GoldenWoodFarm, we are very excited!!!) but we did not want to get her until we tested again and everyone came back Neg.

Thank You
Marisa

You will see abscess way before you will find a positive doe on bloodtest. Did she have an abcess burst on your property? Or just a positive test? The former, I wouldn't add anymore new goats to that property or barn until you do test clear and you have no abscess for a whole season...kidding to birthing again. Vicki

She had a abscess but we do not think it was there long (she was due yesterday and mom thought it maybe was the stress of kidding that the abscess showed up).
No the abscess never burst and the vet said it was a low grade infection of CL and most likely never spread and to test her again in six months to see if her levels went up but we told him the breeder had taken her back and he thought that was a good.

Thanks Marisa
