Here comes the ice - again

It's sleeting here has been since I did morning chores at 5:30 am. I'm going to love trying to climb the gate tonight! My neighbor was over and the way he relocked the gate I was unable to open in the dark! I'm sure once ice gets on it there is no way I will get it open!
I'm hoping Cassie isn't due on the 28th and holds out till March 20th! I am so done with winter! I swear Feb is the longest month even if it has the least amount of days.......

Well I made it over the gate! Still haven't gotten it unlocked though. We had sleet all day Thursday and (rap wood) nothing since. It looks like snow until you step on it.
How did it turn out down south?

It is nothing but ice here!

We went to Emily's today, and I was hanging onto the seats.. worried we were going to slide into a ditch or something. UGH!

Okay did anyone else wake up and say where did the snow come from?? There was a chance for a dusting and we ended up with 1-2 inches!!!

we're down by the AR/MO state line... we've now pretty much melted.. BUT.. are now awash in a sea of mud... I just let the indoor dogs out. The old fat, little grandma boston came back in... YUCK, I can understand the big dogs coming in dirty, but Rosie looks like she just sort of SUNK into it. She is solid mud on all four legs, up to her elbows...we are needing SUNSHINE (and some wind to dry the mud) badly.

We *still* have the ice that came down earlier this week. We got more ice last night though not a lot. We are sooooooo wet. I can't keep the barns dry. Sunshine is a dim distant memory.

my big fear is it's going to be a repeat of last year... water, water, water all winter and early spring....then when we NEED rain (late spring/thru summer) NOTHING.. we were so dry last year, the ground cracked (reminded me of my former life in Oklahoma... thought I'd left dry, cracked ground and burned up grass behind... only thing different here? the dirt isn't bright red LOL.
