expired BoSe

I gave one of my bred does her BoSe shot yesterday, thinking it was good into this year. Went to check afterwards and it has a 7-07 expiration date. Is this at all harmful and would it still be effective? Getting a new bottle!

The cow regs. read for the inspector to incourage us to throw out EX. meds but the fact is they are still good for well over a year after the date.
Lynn remember I had dead kids- well we have had 2 more does kid early. The placenta is pulling away from the uterious to soon- Vet thinks we are a selenuim defeceny- I give the shot as You once a year before kidding- He says the shot last about 2wks.
he now wants me to to feed horse crumbs- daily...
The only thing I did different this year is feed cow mineral instead of goat-- I went right back to goat minerals- got the selenuim crumbs- and PRAY we get some live kids. I cried all day yesterday. Lost 3 doe and 2 buck kids so far. They look perfect. I am just sick. I guess a lot of sheep herds are having the same trouble as me.
Liz

Yah you should be ok. My vet neighbor has given me "expired" cdt. Its the companies way of protecting itself.

Teacup didnt get to read your awful ordeal...do you happen to know what causes the placenta to tear away?

Just got back froma seminar (Dr Pugh) who has had no problems giving cattle minerals to goats, tho I only use loose goat minerals. Aint gonna change that.

Liz, so sorry to hear about your losses. Those are the ones that kill you, perfectly formed kids that come early.
How did the selenium content vary from your cow minerals to goat minerals?

In the office where I work, drugs are considered fully effective until 6 months after the expiration date even though we don't sell them that way. After 6 months we dump them.
