Wanted: Angora Goats/ Information

HI, I am looking to get started with Angora goats for spinning and need to find some local farms that might have some for sale - are you one of these farms or do you know somebody who does have them? I am in W.NY and can travel some into PA, OH, and certainly NY .... Any info on farms that you might have would be appreciated

Google Lavender Hill, she is in Pen. I purchased some from her two years ago and was very happy, very nice, healthy goats.

Hi there.

Are you looking for white angoras or colored?

There is a farm in north-central PA called Steam Valley Fiber Farm. Phylleri Ball is the owner and she raises colored angora goats. That is who I bought my one girl from. Stacy Bonus of Lavender Hill is a tremendous source of knowledge as well. I know she raises colored, I'm not sure about white. If she doesn't, I'm sure she can direct you to someone who does. She is located in south-west PA.

Also, the Colored Angora Goat Breeders Association (http://www.cagba.org/) has a list of breeders by state.

For whites, you can try the members list of the American Angora Goat Breeders Association (http://www.aagba.org/index.html).

Our girl is due to kid near the end of March. They usually single, especially the first time. If we decide to sell, I will post a pic on this board.

Good luck. Please let us know how you do.
