Dead goat?

Not sure if the experienced goat keepers, can help.
The billy was fine yesterday. No problem whatsoever. Today, he's dead!
He does have blood coming from one eye, and what appears to be faecal matter from his nose, and mucous from his mouth. His abdomen is extended, but I don't know how long he has been dead, from yesterday.
I've had him since he was a baby (bottle fed) and he was around 3 years of age. I would have said he 'appeared' big and healthy. Bit concearned as I have other goats. No new additions of any livestock. Bit of a longshot I know, but does anybody have any ideas. Thankyou.

Do you have other animals that may have caused the blood in the eye? Like chickens?
It's just not a symptom I am aware of.

Has he been eating anything new? Could be poison - based on the mouth mucous. Could he have gotten into toxic plants?

Parasite overload is a another quick, symptom-less killer.

I'm afraid that without a necropsy, you probably won't know.

Sorry you lost him.

What was his diet? Grain without AC or alfalfa?

Thanks so much for the replys. When Hubbie got home from work, he looked him over properly. I just couldn't face it. He says the eye was completely bloodshot, and there was a lot of blood behind the eye, like some kind of trauma. I do have chickens, but they don't get near the goats, although they are free range. I keep bicarb in all the stalls now, when they are penned over the winter. I feed just Hay, and twice a week give them the species specific goat food. I'm just totally confused. He 'appeared' healthy and alert yesterday. Nothing in his stall to harm him. I'll reworm, just as a matter of caution. Thanks again. It's good to know that inexperienced keepers like me, can come and get sound advice from more expert keepers.

If your goat started to bloat, what you would have seen was cud rather than feces coming out of his nose. He may also have bashed his head against something due to the pain of bloating. I'd guess either bloat, poisoning or trauma killed him. Sorry for your loss.
