I Am so pleased
My first doe of the season kidded on the first with a doeling. She is a second freshener. I was all set to get rid of her this year because she did not milk to good last year. At day three of lactation she milked out of one side more than she had given me at her peak from both sides last year.
I am thinking the good diet changes are the reason. She, along with the rest, had been getting bagged feed and grass hay. Over the summer I switched to whole oat/corn/soybean meal and add alfalfa pellets. Loose mineral and grass hay. They all were nice and healthy for breeding and retained that look throughout pregnancy. I also see some larger bellies on them than before. Hoping this means twins from those who usually have singles.
Thanks to you all I do believe I am on the path to more milk.
