Barn Cams?

We have a tin barn, and I am now wanting a goat cam. Does anyone know of any cheaper ways to set my barn up? I won't spend the whole $400+ they want from a supply store. I remember some one saying you can make one with stuff from Walmart.

They should have something like your looking for in the photo dept. Least that is where it used to be. Was around 100$ when I saw it. You can also look here http://www.walmart.com/catalog/produ...uct_id=7976529 and there is lotsa stuff on ebay

Do you have a wireless network set up at your house? Do you have a line of sight from the barn to the house? I have a cheap USB camera on an extra laptop in the barn. It has a wireless connection (line of sight) to the wireless router in the house. I stream it out and use marestare.com and then I can watch it at work. That was important to me, since I work off the farm and need to be able to watch my does from wherever I am. If you are just looking for a surveillance video that won't be broadcasted, you would likely not use that setup.

I think ours was $100 ... but it doesn't have sound. My husband used to be a sound guy, so he added that separately.

Look for ones designed as baby monitors if your barn is not too far away. Otherwise, I think ours came from Home Depot or Lowes -- check hardware stores.
