My first kid yesterday! no pics yet. Questions.

We are brand new to goats, we bought two bred does this fall and Alice the Nubian dropped her kid yesterday. Just one, a little buckling we named Woody, my camera was at the shop I will get pics tonight and post tomorrow.
He is so stinking cute! We have him in the house, as it is cold and Alice's previous owner said she had stomped a kid to death before.
We are thinking about keeping him and breeding our two almost one year old Nubians does to him. But of course we will need another buck or wether to keep him company.
Alice is a good milker and Woody is taking the bottle like a champ. He did have me up three times last night crying for more milk.
How much should he have a day at this point?

I feed newborn kids as much colostrum/milk as they will take the first few days, usually 4 times a day, (more often if they don't take much at each feeding). By the time they are a week old, they usually drink 10-20 oz three times a day. I keep them on 3 times a day til they are 10 weeks old, then fed them 20 oz twice a day til they are 4 months old.

Take care with overeating disease in the kid. I can't really tell you how much he should eat, just watch his tummy and his attitude and have C&D Anti-toxin on-hand. Did you vaccinate for C&D (with toxoid) to prevent overeating disease? Many do not and just keep the anti-toxin on-hand.

I feed my kids all they want four times a day from day one. Then at a few days old they go on the bucket feeder and free-choice milk.
