help with a cream separator

I cannot get a cream separator to work that I bought used. The woman seems honest enough and said it worked well, but even my friend Jillis tried and can't get it working. Any thoughts or advise? I spent $250.00 and I to think I wasted it.

Thanks for responding. The milk just comes pouring out of the milk spout part and nothing comes out of the cream part. We have tried adjusting anything that can be adjusted about a million times and still no difference.
The lady said she bought is from Lehmans and I have the instructions book and tried all the ideas they have and still nothing. I am sooo discouraged.

Is your milk proper temperature for separating? Ideal is around 100 degrees. You didn't mention if this is an electric or manual, it could be a problem with it not getting enough RPM's to work properly.
Are you sure that it's put together properly? there are so many parts to them.

Is your separator for cow or goat milk? One for cow milk will not work on goats milk - or so I have read.

The woman who sold it to me said that it was supposed to work for both goat and cow milk. I have heated the milk to the right temp. The only thing I don't know is if it is getting up to the proper RPM's because I've never used one before. I followed the assembly diagram to the T when I put it together and even redid it several times to make sure.

I looked it up on that site you gave me(thanks) and it is the electric one that sells for $429.00 new and it does say that it can be used on both goat and cow milk. I would be very grateful if you could help me. Lynn

is it possible for you to post pics of what you have?
I'm very familiar with mine and it seems not too different.
Feel free to PM me if that makes it easier for you.
