We have finished kidding

Well we have finished our kidding season and we ended up with 15 bucklings and 4 doelings. Can you believe those odds. Well one good thing is my daughter will have quite a few to choose from for this years 4-H PROJECT. We also have just obtained a market for the rest of the bucklings. We were invited to a wether sale for 4-Her's only. We are pretty excited about that. I had bought a baby cam for the barn and it worked out great. I was there for all the births except one. We ended up losing two of the baby's , which was sad but, all the rest are doing great.

Congrats on all the kids! You got what we wanted. I wanted bucks, bucks and more bucks and our does currently outnumber our bucks.....There are still a lot more does to kid here but it is looking like a doe year....

Sorry to hear you had a bad year. Did you have to spend money on breeding fees? 2007 was the worst year ever for me! I spent $200.oo in breeding fees and got 7 bucks out of 1 doe! Doesn't that suck?

I feel for you big time!

They were born from January 1st through January 10th. Our fair excepts any born after January 1st. We were hoping that they would have them around that time because last year we had to take a March wether and we just made weight. Our fair is in August but weigh ins are in July. I have pictures but have not gotten them onto this coputer yet. My old one crashed. So this was my Christmas present. No I Own my own buck and he does a great job but we were hoping to get a few more does, but God works in mysterious ways. He must have known that I have a hard time deciding what does to keep. I usually want to keep them all. Oh well they are all healthy and happy. Today they are venturing up to the hay bale with the moms and it is so funny to see them running and jumping around with the big girls.
