Ohh.. If it is white. It sounded like she might have lost her plug. So just keep an eye on her. U might have the baby soon or in a week or two. Good luck!!

LOL no.. I dont think so.. I remember some of my doe have that discharge. It took her to have her baby like in a week.. The other doe was like 24 hours thing. It is on depends on the goats. But if would make u feel better. Just check on her before u go to bed then check her again in the morning and check on her often. If it helps... We are here if anything happens..

I'm going to go check her ligaments (TRY) and feel her bag and see if she is digging or anything.

check her ligaments. If they're gone, its likely within 12 hours. If one of my does doesn't have her kids within 12 hours of losing ligaments, I go in to see if everything is arranged right. remember that final stage preggo does ligaments will 'bend' and get softer, but they won't truly dissapear till early labor.

Make sure someone is there while she kids out, to help if needed. (especially because she's a pygmy) If you're jittery alone, call a friend to stay with you overnight, who can handle a birthing.

She still have her ligaments?

Hannah had lost her plug at night. The next morning around 10ish she went into labor. Gave me triplets.

I agree it varies...

check her at least once, though, even though it seems she probably won't have them tonight. sometimes they surprise you. If her ligs are gone, I'd keep a real close eye on her.

I wish that was true for all goats!
Nica kidded in the afternoon on her first kidding. Second kidding was in the evening around 7, third kidding was around 2 oclock in the morning. Layla's kidding was around 1PM. Hannah's kidding was around 10am.

Does fed their main meal in the evening will usually kid the next day and not that night. I try to get all my does to kid in the day time by feeding them a bit heavier in the evening than in the morning. They do not generally go into labor while they are ruminating at night.

As far as your doe goes, when goats start having a white discharge, they can kid in a matter of hours or weeks, like posted above. How does her udder look? Is it tight and shiney? Is she digging a nest or pawing the ground? is she talking to imaginary babies or talking to her sides? You will note odd behavior prior to kidding if you know your goat well. However, many of us have walked into the barn only to be pleasantly surprised by a couple of dried off and happy twins

Ok...I'm better now. If she has any ligaments they are soft becuz they felt like pencils b4..I can't find the pencils. Her bag is the size of a small cantalope and it's not real firm...but not real gushy either. She is just laying down and chewing her cud. and breathing hard...but she has been breathing hard for weeks. No baaaaing. no up and down. no digging. So I think I have some time. I'm going to putz around in here for a bit and then check on her agian. If I do go to bed I think I'll set my alarm for every 2 hours. I'm tired at all...I'm lit! Thanks a million!

Ok...that's the plan. Right now I'M the one who is nesting...I'm cleaning the house and getting everything organized. I'll keep you posted. I have a good friend who works nights and she gets off at 8am...she will come over I'm sure to help. If anything just keep an eye on Gretta for me so I can sleep. Hubby will be home in the afternoon. I'll check back in a hour or so...or sooner!
