Normal or odd behavior?

I have had tanya for 2 months, She was preg. when we got her, not sure how far along. She will stand next to a stick or the feeder and just rock back and forth itching. she has managed to rub a patch of hair off of her bag. No redness or signs of problems. Just wondering if it was normal.

She needs to be de-wormed. She needs copper supplementation, too.

Rose, can you share more?

Is it the itchiness that indicates the worms/copper deficiency? The bald spot? Or the picture? Or all of them?

thanks
Cathy

Itchiness could be worms. The bald spot and split hair on the end of the tail is indicative of copper deficiency.

Thanks, I will look into that this weekend. I just thought that maybe her bag was itchy because it was filling up with milk. It is now about the size of a half a cantaloupe and kind of hard. Not sure how long I have until kids, But I have felt movement and can see a hard kick occasionally.

Collect some fresh goat berries right after she poops. Take them to the vet for fecal examination for worm eggs. That way, you'll know whether she needs de-worming for sure, and what de-wormer to use.
