Where would one go to get molasses to make molasses water?

Well for years I used the Molasses that you get from your store. It is normally in the baking area I believe. I finally went to the COOP and they sell it also by the pound. I had them fill a coffee can and it cost me a whole $1.58.

If you don't find molasses you can use Kayro syrup, but I think most stores have it. Sweetgoats never thought about asking the local co-op, but I will the next time I am in there.

Look where the pancake syrups are. Brands you may find are Brer Rabbit or Grandma's.

Are you just using it for a pick-me-up for kidding does?

I usually give about 1/4 cup per 2 gal. of warm water.

Is this a dried molasses or a syrup?

It is a syrup.
And never tell your 14 yr old DS to make up the molasses water.
I did, and I am happy to say, my girl did not die from sugar overdose.
But when I saw the bottle and how much he used I nearly fainted! (about 1 cup to a gal of water!!!!!)
Geeze, teenagers, gotta be specific. I was just busy catching baby #2 at the time and told him real briefly, go make molasses water.

What do you use it for? What is the property ratio of molasses to water?

Just wondering.

I use it for a pick-me-up for the doe that just gave birth.
I think 1/4c of molasses to a gal or two of water is what is proper.
