Talking Here We Go!

I don't think she's messing with me, either. Mammy, one of my best milking girls (NubianX), has a string of goop hanging from her vulva.

Going to be milking time around here again real soon.

Thanks, everyone. No, Alex. Mammy isn't from Emily's herd. She was sort of a rescue, whose owner wanted to haul her to the sale barn last year because her udder is ghastly and drags the ground just before kidding. (HER breeding caused this horror!)

Anyway, I bought Mammy from her, and with care & attention, she's just fine. She's the sweetest gal, and her milk is plentiful and delicious.

Um . . . she IS messing with me. No contractions yet. Guess I'll get a nap while the gettin' is good, eh?

NeHi

P.S. I do have a couple of does from Emily's herd that are due to kid out soon. One is Lalaith (spotted Nubian) who had quads last year. She looks just as big this year.

Just so you don't get too anxious, they can show strings of goop several days to a couple of weeks before they actually go into labor! Not what you wanted to hear, I know! Have you checked her ligaments? And is she showing any signs of labor other than the goop? My doe showed goop almost a week ago, and I'm keeping an eye on her, but I'm sure it's going to be another week or more before she actually kids -- she's just not ready to go yet.

Thanks, Kathleen. Ligaments are getting mushy, but still somewhat there. I guess she'll keep stringing me along for a bit.
