Question milking - after visiting a buck

i know that i've read, many times, that milk will taste bad after the doe has been with a buck.... but how long after?? i've just been milking her out, then feeding it to the cats for the past 3 days since she's been bred. she definately still stinks do i just wait for it to wear off before i can keep the milk??

The smell is on her skin and hair, it does not permeate into the milk! Wash her up, wash your hands and don't get hair into the milk Vicki

My milkers are with my buck 24/7 and the milk never tastes bad. As long as it's filtered and chilled immediately there is no "yuck" factor.

My does also run with their buck and no bucky tasting milk at all! I had always heard that keeping a buck with them would ruin the milk but that just is not the case. Taste the milk.

My does have never given me off milk from being with their buck, and the breeder reports the same, even after 4.5 months with a buck. I had one day of milkings where my milk *smelled* off but did not taste off after my first buck arrived on the scene. The girls were not with him but could smell & see him. Hormones raged! After that, nothing at all off about the milk (and I am *very* sensitive to off smells and tastes).
