Bad Goat vent!!

My (soon to be not-so) favorite LM goat keeps walking through our fences. I put her up and she waits til I turn my back to slip right back out. If she sees me with a stick she heads back up--I CAN'T STAND ALL DAY IN THE YARD WITH A STINKIN' STICK!!!! She is fearless and annoying. It is getting to be freezer time for her, I tell you (not really-but I threaten her all the time). If she isn't climbing on our minivan or in the boat, she is standing on our back porch waiting to slip in when the kids walk out. She thinks she is a person--doesn't desire goat company like a normal goat.

Dh was cutting wood in the front yard and she snuck up on him and got 6" from the chainsaw without even flinching. We are building a treehouse for the (human) kids. This thing is 12 foot up in our tree and has a monster staircase. Well, you see where this is going??? She climbed up and was walking out on 6" limbs. I tried to get her down and got about 5 steps from the bottom and she STOPS and I keep going. I end up falling on concrete blocks and am all banged up and sore and have hurt my neck.

She is now in solitary confinement (bad goat jail), our kidding stall.

All the other goats BEHAVE!! Why can't she???

Gretta has gotten in the house 4 times now. She also keeps jumping into the UPS truck when he delivers....real funny until she takes a crap or pees in there.

You have a very intelligent goat. It seems that those smart girls who delight us so much are also the source of our frustration. I have the feeling my Mimi will be one of those. She's a first generation mini Nubian and has a lot of the ND personality. She's only 6 1/2 months old, but wants to come in the milk parlor with my first group of does, jumps up on me like a puppy and calls out to me (in her Nubian voice) for attention.

Does she walk through the fences, or jump over them? What kind of fencing do you have? If she's an otherwise valuable goat, there may be a solution that will keep her from the freezer, and keep you happy. She sounds like a hoot!

I sure like a picture of her up in the treehouse. LOL. She sounds a lot like my Libby (stolen by my neighbor. Long story). She was exasperating, but I sure do miss her.

I have pygmies, boers, angoras, and alpines. I have 5 fenced areas for them all and I wouldn't be able to keep any one of them under control with electric fencing.
I have to use a combo of chain link and well hung field fencing to keep my goats confined.

I have 3, a boer, alpine and pygmy (all bucks) that I cant keep fenced with the stuff I use. Those 3 go under or over or through to often for my patients. Those 3 have the title, 'the fence wreckers'......They are also marked for freezer camp next week.
The rest, 16 other goats, stay put.

Regular electric fence never worked for me, either. We switched to electric net.

We also have a doe that would lick the chain saw while it's running, if we'd let her. Must be the smell of fresh sap. But I wish she would stay up in a tree all day.

She never leaves you alone for one minute. Constantly nibbling and slobbering all over your hands and clothes. So jealous of the other goats. We have to tie her up every time we do anything with another goat, like trim hooves, or she will sneak up behind you and yank out a chunk of your hair. We've tried everything, but nothing phases her. Uunfortunately she never tries to escape.

Anyone want a 4yo nubian for free?

We have a goat that was named Faith but she only answers to "Naughty Daughter"...she is Alpine mostly.

Naughty Daughter is very friendly mind you she comes to her name and never kicks at milking time as a 1yo. She had a doeling as FF but she killed Joy by knocking a board over on her at 3 days old.

She is the daughter to my old lady herd queen so I have to keep her....ND gave 1 gallon as FF....but she has tiny teets!

ND visits my neighbors....knocks on the door for her bread treat They just love her visits as the two old ladies grew up on farms....

ND always finds her way home at feeding time....waiting at barn door (outside of fenced area) at milking time....

She'll lay on your blanket in the lawn while you sun bathe....
