I think it depends on how much plastic tinsel is on it. I know we were gonna cut and sell our extra juniper trees this year, but our goats ate them.....grin.

It all depends on if it was treated with anything. Sometimes trees are treated chemicals that help keep it green longer and help keep the needles on longer.

If you know 100% that your tree is chemical free then sure you can give it to the goats.
My goats love pines.

Well there are no decorations that will be on it - we only have some lights and plastic icicles that we will take off of it, but i'm not sure if it was treated with anything or not, so i guess we will just toss it in the trash :+( Thanks !

My goats eat white pine but prefer nasty old jackpine.

Last year our goats chewed our Christmas tree down to a bare stem with no branches. Gave 'em something to do and a little variety in their diet. The tree looked pretty strange by the time they were done with it!

Mine love them and chew the bark off even! They also like candy canes! And it makes their kisses sweeter!

Ours wouldn't eat ours! It is fake and would cause a very hard time trying to do so!

We cut out the middle man and just cut a pine on Christmas day and put it right in the goat pen.

Now last year, we dropped them an 80 ft pine. Didn't put that one in the pen - they had to eat it out in the main yard.

Well, I had an artificial ficus tree on my front porch (hiding my electrical meter) and I just noticed that it has NO leaves LOL. It must not have hurt them because I have no idea how long it's been bare and none have been sick . Silly goats

Most Christmas trees are covered in chemicals.

Mine love them. Just be sure to remove when they are done. I left the tree out and it snowed about 2 feet. One of the does got spooked by something and ran over it and sliced her leg from hoof to armpit on a branch.

The reason Christmas trees look so beautiful and green, (the commercial ones anyway) is because they spray paint them green! Wouldn't be good for goats to eat.
