Will a 3/8 tattoo kit do an Alpine???

I thought it was the right size, but after we got it I was told the 5/16 does the best job on all breeds (with ears! ) So will it still work? I plan to do my 2 year old Alpine X for id uses only. Plus all her kids are getting a tattoo. Stupid me thinking the smaller the number the smaller the tattoo

My friend uses the 3/8 tattoo on all her breeds (except for the La Manchas). In fact, many folks I know use that size. The only reason I have the 5/16 outfit is that I got it really cheap at a thrift store.

I use the 3/8" on mine. It's more visable, to me.
