Red face I just had a disturbing thought...

What if Gretta is not even pregnant! She is my first goat...I'm such a newbie. I'm just going off what I was told by the guy who sold her to me...he said she was due in Nov/Dec and she was a good mom, she had one kid last year. He said she was bred to a Nigerian Dwarf..I saw the Buck. But what if he is wrong. She hasn't done anything different or shown any signs since I freaked out over her breathing hard. I'm sure she is sick of me feeling her udder and tendons and always staring at her hind end....and waking her up in the middle of the night! I guess it would be ok if she's not...we just love her so much. But I got everything ready with my kidding kit and all. And my mom even knitted a little goat coat...and my sister is working on more!!! OMG...has this ever happened to anyone else?

How long have you had her? If you have had her for 4 months then next month should be the month! Some will play games with you!

Our Nubian that we hoped was bred came back into heat. It happens.

yes!

Sides, rear (make sure we can she her butt and udder area. A little trim will help to find those little udders!) belly shot (from side) and top shot (from the hips to the last rib in the cage)

you are so funny

It looks like to me she is not due any time soon. Since you are pestering her so much, I would recommend feeling for the baby. Feel her sides and the floor of her stomach. Feel any kicking?

This morning I was trying to feel her but she gets mad at me because she just want me to scratch her...there was a lot of movement on her right side that I could see...like rolling. I tried to feel in front of her udder and it made her pee! Right on one my of my cats tail. HA! I really don't know what I'm feeling for...I have no experience with any kind of unborn baby...animal or human!

This is a good time to start feeling so you will be able to tell the difference betweeen rumen activity and kid activity. I do my feeling when the does are trapped on the milk stand. Some do fuss a bit, but they can not get away! I don't have any human baby experience either, just lotsa kid experience.

She does not look obviously pregnant to me. But, after having goats for nine years, I still have one I can't tell on. I thought she was due a week or two ago, and she came into heat again instead.

Well, I figured out how to scratch Gretta and feel her tummy at the same time. I felt a dull thumping here and there...is that a baby?

All I can add is that a pregnant goat's due date/time is God's little way of teaching us humans patiences! If she is preg, she will probably kid when you least expect it.
