quick question about newborn kid shots

My neighbors goat just delivered healthy twins. The doe did not have any shots during preganancy. Do the babies need a CD&T now or just wait 2 weeks? Thanks!

I think you can wait. Entero doesn't generally happen until they are older and starting to eat grass, hay and whatever else will go into their little mouths. I think they are still too young to manufacture their own antibodies right now.

If mom did not get a CDT, then the babies need one at two weeks, then again 4 weeks later, and again in another 4 weeks. They will need three because mom did not get one. The vets at CSU Vet school said that anything less then two weeks, you may as well just poor it out.
Had mom got hers, then they would of only needed it at 2 weeks and again 4 weeks later.
That reminds me. I need to get ready to get three of my does their shots. They are due pretty soon.
