About actiivated charcoal - the other names are listed. You may be able to find at a pharmacy - are you near one? I hope he pulls through.

What is it?
Activated Charcoal is a supplement used when accidental poisonings have occurred. The charcoal helps absorb the poison and carry it out of the body. It is also used to treat high cholesterol, diarrhea, upset stomach, and gas.

Other names for Activated Charcoal include: Active Carbon, Adsorbent Charcoal, Carbo Activatus, Carbon Active, Carbon Attivo, Decolorising Charcoal, and Medicinal Charcoal.

fish tank charcoal or barbeque charcoal that is not self lighting will work. Be real carefull with the barbeque stuff and make sure it doesn't have lighter fluid or what ever they put on there to make it burn, if your not sure don't use it. If you can get either of those crush is up and get it in him. It sure sounds like some type of poisen.
Other than that let him vomit, don't try to stop it. some with diarhea if he gets it. let him do it. Just keep him hydrated. He needs to get the toxins out of him.

now my tube is some type of charcoal concoction. and it says 25 to 50 ml/cc for aniamls weighing 35 to 100 lbs.
I wish I could tell you an exact amount. But I wouldn't worry about giving him to much

Hey do u think it is acidois or toxin from eating ???? I cant figure out what it is... I am frustrated... Becuz MIL just got him two days ago from my house. He was fine this morning and all of sudden he acts sooo sickly and everything.. (sigh)..

I was told if you don't have the charcol pill. You get the black charcol off some old wood in your fireplace or in the yard where you have built a fire. Just scrape off about 2 Tablespoons(powder) off of stick on a paper towel and then just open his mouth and put it in. He will take it if you put it for enough back in the mouth. Wish you luck an God Bless.

I didn't see that he got any baking soda. That would help neutralize any tannic acid from the oak leaves or if his gut is generating acid.

I can't say for sure but I would think charcoal would be pretty safe and hard to overdose. It should just pass through and out the other end.

Do you have any pepto bismol? If so or another similar product I would give him some of that too to soothe his gut and prevent the acid from damaging it.

Good luck!

Is he bloating? I would try walking him if he is.

Probiotics or yogurt would be a good thing to try too.

Well, How is he doing? Please give us a update.

Fishhead, yes she said he had the baking soda.

We bought a tube of charcoal stuff for poisoning. We have never had to use it but I have it just in case. My daughter did a Demo for her 4H and she learned a lot about all the things that are Toxic for goats, so she said we better have it on hand.

After this thread we are getting some now, too. You just never know what they might get into, despite your best efforts to keep them safe. I hope he's OK.

Can you put a blanket on him?

Maybe try some warm water flavored with a bit of molasses to warm him up.

Have you tried a pinch test on his skin to see if it goes back? If it doesn't that will tell you if he's dehydrated.
