grazing with cows?

We have a couple of longhorns out in a field that we'd like to graze goats in. One has a 4 week old calf. Is there any danger of the cows hurting the goats?

If she has a fairly new calf and is not accustomed to grazing with goats...I wouldn't risk it. That maternal instinct behind 800-1200 pounds of cow......yikes! And thats with or without horns.
We do graze our cows with our goats....but they are used to each other. I wouldn't introduce them while she is being a mother.

It's funny -- she is not terribly maternal, but the other cow -- the "aunt" - is more protective.

Sigh. The cows ran out of food and jumped the fence, so we sent them to graze where our goats normally do. Bigger field, more grass. Now I don't know what to do with the goats until the cows owner brings more hay and feed for them.
