Here's her cute post!!

Do you have GDS( Goat Delusional Syndrome)? There is no known cure. We don't know how this disease is contracted, the level of contageousness, and few ,if any approach a full recovery. Heres what to look for..

Goat Delusional Syndrome

Basic Symptoms

1. Frequent and ongoing conversations with one or more goats.
2.Assigning human attributes such as personality to goats.
3. Over -sensitivity and over-protectiveness(i.e. taking offense when someone refers to goats as mere livestock).
4.Periodic insomnia due to worry about goats-walking out to the barn after midnight just to "check on things".
5. Concidering presents and/or treats for "special"goats.

Advanced Symptoms

1. Hugging and kissing goats-even BUCKS.
2.Addressing goats with terms of endearment(i.e.,sugar,sweetie,honey,baby).
3.Remembering every goats birthday without referring to a calendar.
4.Spending inordinate amounts of time on the internet goat sites and e-mailing perfect strangers about your goats.
5.Canceling vacations because of goats.
6.Missing church because a gost is due to deliver.
7.Buying a bigger farm or ranch so you can buy more goats.
8.Taking a second job or morgage to support your goat habit.
9.And finally, trying to find decorative uses for all those goat berries-such as painting and stringing them like cranberries for your Christmas tree.

Really Cute thread. But I think I'm at risk, with the exception of a couple of the items listed! Oh well, I'll be the first to admit it....." I love my goats" !

There was, but it died out due to lack of interest, no one really wanted to be cured

Red face Gds

I confess! I'm guilty! I have taken to going out to the barn at least once a night since I have one that is going to kid soon (tonight maybe???). I was only going to get one or two and now have 13... and know them all by names... especially the ones born on St Valentine's Day.

I must be immune to GDS. When I look at the goats I see fodder for the freezer, except for the milker who is a sweatheart! .

I must have GDS. I love kissing my goaties and one year, I got one of those clear glass ornaments and filled it with goat berries so the girls could give their "daddy" a present.

Oh honey, we've all been there. "I better get two because they're herd animals". Then, a couple breedings later you say "I should have a buck, finding buck service is so hard!" and then, before you know it, you have 27 and you swear you can't get by with less.

Does having the baby monitor on permanently count as a symptom? 'Course it helps with the chickens too

Do baby monitors reach 150-200 feet? We were thinking about getting one.

My husband has GDS. We both are addicted to animals of all kinds.

Baby monitors don't, but wireless cameras do. You can get the basic setups cheaper than you think.

I think I am afflicted, too, lol! And no, I'm not interested in a 12 step program, just a support group for the incurable condition. Oh, wait...that's what THIS forum is!

~Mary, who's owned by many goats and has 2 in the house at the moment.
