Kid coat sizes ???

I'm looking at ordering some kid coats off of ebay, but what sizes ? The kids aren't born yet, so i have no idea which size(s) to get.

I will have some purebred Alpine kids, a small nub./sanaan bred to an Alpine, and a sanaan doe that was bred to a nubian or possibly mini nubian.

What sizes should i have on hand ?

Thanks !

Size medium dog sweaters or better yet size 2-4T sweatshirts for toddlers from Goodwill...cheap and no guilt if they get ruined.

Kids grow too fast to buy spendy "clothes" for them. I made my own out of cheap fabric (or recycled clothes) in several sizes. Here's instructions, if you're handy:
http://www2.localaccess.com/rockyrun/coat.htm

I made the initial pattern, then just cut it down or sized it up for all my goats. Now I have fly sheets, waterproof turn outs, warm coats, and really light sheeting in my barn colors to bring my goats to ringside (keeps my white goats clean on show day, no morning bath shivers for them). It takes about 1/2 an hour to whip one out, so I have been known to custom make one for a kid. My kids sizes from neck to rump range from 16 to 21". These fit newborn lamanchas, probably averaging about 8-9 lbs up to around 12-13 lbs.

Here's another set of instructions, but I prefer leg bands to belly belts.

If you're dead set on buying them, here's a couple of sites that offer coats and have sizings available.

I have used the sleeves that have been cut off of adult sweat shirts. The cuff goes up around the neck. Just cut holes for the front legs, and if you are dressing little boys, cut the belly. You can get adult sweatshirts at Goodwill pretty cheap if you don't have any at home.
