Bartering @ it's finest

Over the weekend I called about a Nubian buckling for sale. Asked if it was disbudded? Owner said no, but wished they were. I'm not good at bartering mind ya, but this one seemed easy. So away I go to view the two bucklings for sale. Long story short I wanted the buckling and the negotiations began as follows: If she would hold the kid until its weaned approx. 3 months dam raised. In return I disbudded three of her newborn kids on the spot, one adult does hooves that needed serious work, and agreed to disbud another does kids once she drops them. Bottom line free buck for an one hour of hard work. Maybe a few of you goat lovers will find your skills barterable in the future....Can't wait to pick him up in a couple months (pics for sure).

I love the barterin' too....
Here I sit waiting for a sheep to go in my freezer that I'm paying for with a doe that I was going to sell but couldn't find a buyer for. My friend has someone looking for a dairy girl. Win- Win.
