Breeders in MI?

Due to my only two dairy does having CAE, I need two more does to freshen in spring. I need that milk supply for the house and for feeding the kids in the spring/summer.

I'm interested in Alpine, LaManchas, and Nubians mainly. Doesn't have to be too fancy, a good milker with decent conformation, and not looking to pay more than 300.00 ea. I suppose crosses/grades at this point would even be acceptable... Mainly I'm just interested in the milk supply. The doe must be bred to freshen this spring, at or before March, prefferably.

Wherever I get them from, they must be from a healthy herd that is abscess free and the entire herd has a recent negative CAE testing. Would like to work with a breeder about a guarantee to the effect of the negative CAE status, as well.

Anybody have anything for sale or know anybody who does?

i don't have any for sale at that price range but you might want to look at the breeders directory from MDGS here http://mdgs.org/21-brdlist.html
or lookk in your adga member directory.

Thanks Susanne, I'm gonna go there next but I decided to try on HT first, lol. I'm sad that MDGS doesn't have website links.

Yes, to my dad's dismay, I do have my license now... which is nice because I was able to haul goats to the buck this year.

Hoping to find someone close by, but I suppose neighboring states wouldn't be too bad.

I'm gonna start emailing members of the MDGS in a couple days.

thanks again!
