herd photo - as long as we're sharing

OK-- this isn't the whole herd, but it's a good shot of the kids. Most of the moms are in the background. Pigs and chooks thrown in for good measure. Our LGD has a lot of friends to protect.

They all look like they really want to know what you are doing. They are cute as ever.

Now I have no idea on this, but wouldn't the pigs attack the goats? I know of someone that said that her goats were killed buy her hogs. Was she telling a story, or can they really do that?

Eeps! The pigs never seemed interested. They are not free ranging anymore, so I guess we won't know how well they get along as the pigs grow, but I can't see any reason a domesticated pig would attack a goat. ...then again - I'm new to pigs. Ours think they are dogs. They are very sweet, if a little pushy. (Always hungry...)

you dont need to worry too much on real young hogs that havent tasted or smelt blood but there are adult hogs that will kill and eat anything they can catch in the barn yard, from mice all the way up to heffers that come into their first menstration, they will gouge them and bleed them,, goats can just be grabbed and gobbled down, but not all hogs do this, especially if they are in freezer camp before hand

My daughter wants a couple of pigs for Christmas, so I was talking to a friend about if it was a good idea. We would butcher them at 5 months.

My friend said that she couldn't stand to butcher hers, and when they grew up, they broke out of the pen and ATE her baby goats!

After that story, I don't think I'll be falling in love with ours and asking to keep them.

I wanted to add that all of your goats are beautiful.
