Leasing herd to clear land

Hi:
I have a question for those of you who rent or lease your herd to clear/cleanup land.

How do you do this?

How long does your herd stay, how much do you charge, how do you verify that they have good fence, who feeds them if you give them add'l grain, etc. etc.

I'm planning on a small commercial herd in the future, and I'm wondering if this could be an additional source of revenue or barter in the summer, or at least food for the herd! In my area, there are lots of dairy and a few sheep farmers. I drive by the dairy pastures, they don't look so good (to me) and wonder if they would like to improve their pasture by rotating in some goats. Ditto for orchards.. there are a few of those around too; perhaps they would like to use this method to clean up the scrub under & between the trees?

If any of you do this, or have ideas about how to present this and price it, I'm all ears!!

Thanks-
Suz.

Do not put goats in an orchard. They will eat the bark off the trees and kill them.

How are you going to keep your goats in a dairy pasture that is barbed wire fenced? Fencing to keep them in will be one of the larger labor costs to any lease business.
