Another is she pregnant

Sorry - but here's another is she pregant thread! We're new to this - have had foals, calves, but not kids. Should we get the birthing pen ready quick or not??? Thanks!

From that shot I say yes... I must say she is in a really weird stand! Her udder looks lopsided, but that only matters if she is a dairy doe. Her pasturens look a little broken down and her back feet look like that went a long time with out a trim. To me she could be in her last few months. Maybe 4th month??

Jim or some one else??

Don't worry if you are just starting out she looks pretty good! Breed up! Also your buck looks so so so so Pretty!

Thanks - I think it's the way she was standing - pointing downhill. She's so big that she wobbles when she walks - and talk about a trot! I've got some other pics of her that show a better stance. We trimmed feet a couple weeks ago - but probably didn't take enough off - our first time! Figured it was better too little than too much. Thanks for comp on George - he's a mighty fine boy, we're adding another buck to the herd this weekend. I think she's got about a month or so, but like I said earlier this is new to us! She has a very pendulous udder - she's almost 4 - and has raised quite a few kids for previous owner. We're moving her closer to the house this weekend, so we can keep a closer watch and put her into pen when time nears. Thanks again for you opinions. We need all the help/ideas we can get!

Windsong Acres. Do you have a due date on her? yes she is Prego. I say she is a bit off because she has no bag at all. I have a doe that is bigger then that but she is not due until the middle of January. How many times has she been bred?

I didn't want to be the first one to say that, but she looks like a dry doe who is being fed well, with large body capacity. Her udder certainly is not showing you she is bred, neither is her vulva. In fact she looks like she was just bred a little while ago with semen still clinging to her tail hairs!

If she is bred it's very early. Vicki

Thanks for your opinions - I've put on a couple of other angles of her. Guess we'll know for sure in the next few months. We've only had these goats since August - haven't really seen any rutty behavior out of George and he's not stinking too bad. She delivered twins in February - I believe she's had twins each time. Thanks again.

I still say YES. I have a doe that is almost bigger now then she was last year when she delivered, and she had two 9-1/2# babies. She is due in January about the second week, and she has no sign of a bag. a lot of goats do not get them until they are a lot closer.
Please keep us posted. Like I said I say YES. I am not going by her sides, I am going by her butt.

Well, I hope like heck she IS! Cuz that means my reluctant doe from the other thread ought to kid around mid to late November...thus ending the running conversations between myself and DW:

"Yes, she is."

"No, she isn't."

"Yes she is."

"No, she isn't."

Now, I am just looking at the vaginal opening on your goat, and it is not puffed out and swelled looking, which is how most of my goats look after they have been KNOWN bred.

I know the pitfalls of looking at the belly width for preggers checking. That's how I originally bought the reluctant doe! Thinking she HAD to be preggers. Um, nope. Not then, anyway. But how about now? Which leads us back to...

"Yes, she is!"

"No, she isn't!"
