How old to have bred? LaMancha, Boer

OK, someone told me to wait to have my LaMancha does bred till next year. They weigh 80 lbs or so. (born in Feb) The Boer is about the same weight- can someone advise? Another question on stanchions- a friend is willing to weld a metal one for me- found plans in How to Build Animal Housing (Ekarius)- anyone have any input on that? (or maybe a site with plans)
thanks!

I don't know about the lamacha, but you could breed the Boer.I have bred march babies in Oct if they are big enough.

Your doelings are big enough to breed. Just be sure to feed them well enough during their pregnancies to insure both their growth and the growth of their kids. Plenty of calcium rich alfalfa pellets/hay the whole pregnancy and then grain the last 50 days. You don't want the fetuses to rob from the does.
