how old is your buck? the rags will not make your girls pregnant.
do you have a good mineral out for your buck?
look at those things first.

He is little over a year old. He does NOT stink. NOTHING. He just stands there with my girls and My girls have NOTHING do to with him. I used to have a buck a year ago but I sold him becuz I have this buck. But he have nothing do to.. So I need the rags to make the girls become into the heat then the buck will do his business.

It been like that for almost two months and NOTHING happens.. Something is not right going on.. Oh well. It is not a big deal. I am going to find a different buck anyways or I think I found someone have the buck that I can rub on it. Thanks anyways...

I know what you're talking about. I decided that I wanted to breed my yearling does to the young Boers. When they came in heat, they wanted nothing to do with either of the Boer bucks, but mooned at the fence over their big stinky sire. I know those Boers were old enough, but they were not stinky, and not particularly interested.

You might need to separate them and give him a chance to become his own man. My young buck was a pushover with the ladies he had been raised around until I moved him for a couple of months, then he was a new buck, all manly man....bred one of them as soon as he cleared the gate. He was quite a man after that too, but needed the space out from under those does to "blossom".

He is never with the my girls. I wont let them run together. They are always seperate. I would just bring him to the girls everyday and everyday for two months. He did tried bred the doe last year when he was wee buck. And he already been with older buck for almost a year anyways. Soo. He is weird buck..

Ah, so he's a shy kind of guy.....not to be too personal, but does he have both testicles descended? If not it could be the reason....or he might just be a slow maturing buck.....maybe he is a Monk buck and prefers to live a life of solitude and introspection! LOL Sorry to make fun, I hope you get it sorted out.

OH LOL> I dont know anymore. I did check his jewels. And it is BIG and FINE. U know. I asked the vet to check his too. LOL. I guess he is more like i dont know WEIRD.. "Maybe he is a Monk buck and prefers to live a life of solitude and introspection!" That could be that!!! Yup. Oh well. U know what. My buck is VERY VERY gentle and EASY to handle. He dont get u know rowdy up like I had the buck and I had to sell him becuz he is too BIG for me and tried to jump on me. I am like NO NO!! But that buck is very quiet one and laid back. TOO LAID BACK maybe! I dont know. If he matures more and he probably will be rowdy up.. I hope not.

My buck was a year old in April and only just started to smell in August. I was also getting really worried. Now he stinks to high heaven! It's the first thing I smell when I walk out the door and he's way down the holler.

He's also strutting around looking all macho. A complete change from just a couple of months ago when he was still acting like a little dog, following me everywhere.

My first buck was good to go at about 10 months old I guess some just mature more slowly.

You asked the vet to do WHAT???

I'm sorry but I have to ask. Did you mean for the vet to check the goat or himself . I almost fell off of the bar stool from laughter when I read that!!
Hope your buck gets the right idea soon!!!

My Kinder buck REEKS. He has that "metallic" skunk smell only a part-Pygmy can attain...

PM me and I'll rope him and get a coupla buck rags for you.

My Nubian young buck wasn't popular with the ladies until I put the OLD Nubian buck's collar on him. They loved him then...

Just beware! All the women goats in the area will come runnin' (coz he KNOWS he's a stud muffin)....

It might be he won't breed girls when you are around or he is a nighttime breeder. Some of my bucks are prone to be more shy than others. Have you tried leaving him in over night and see what happens? He just might not want to breed when you are near by.

Hope you figure something out! How old is this fellow anyways? Has he ever sired any kids before or is this his first real breeding season?

Justine
