??? about breeding an 18 month old Boer/Sannen doe

Hi my daughter has a little doe that is now 18 months old and hasn't been bred yet...
She is a 3/4 Boer 1/4 Sannen cross. She has been living on a 200 acre ranch for the past 6 months where she has all the browse a goat could possibly eat.

We butchered a wether and he had free standing globs of fat in his abdominal cavity and about 1/2 inch layer of fat under his hide.

Neither of them are fed grain.... the little doe is very fat now, my sister who sees her every day says that she waddles rather than walks!

Anyway my question is is it possible for her to be too fat to breed under these circumstances?

Thanks Misty

She COULD be too fat to breed, but with only browse as feed and no grain I would say not too fat. The only way to really know is to try and breed her. If you are overly concerned about her weight you could pen her up and feed her free choice grass hay and goat mineral. ythat should slim her down. But a 75% boer 25% saanen is not going to look skinny. She SHOULD look a little chunky as she should have quite a bit of muscling. She is a meat animal, not a dairy animal. All that walking to browse should do her good too. So I am thinking she shouldn't be too fat to breed. But I would go ahead and get her bred if I were you. You are losing valuble kid sales the longer you wait. (That's just my business logic talking. So if that's not a concern to you, ignore it. )
