cows or horses??

I'm bording a few of my goats at a friends place for the winter and can either run the goats with her 3 female cows or with her horse.
of course we'll introduce properly and see who likes who, but generally speaking what would be the better match? The living accom's are both the same, beautiful barns and pasture.
thanks!

I have ran mine with the horses with no problems. Except sometimes the goats got bored and ate the horses tails.

I'd say cows, because I have a mare who likes to kick the goats... so I had to separate her from them. Of course, I don't have cows... so I do not really know how they would be personally.

Cows. Horses will chase, bite and kick the goats.

I have all three, only trouble comes at feeding time when the goats climb into the feeder and lay on the food. NoBody likes them at all then.

Yep, I agree. Cows. Though of course you should take the time to watch them get to know each other no matter what you choose.

I have my goats with my gelding and they do fine. I have to ask though, not ever having been around cows...how do cows do with other creatures if there are calves involved? Would they hurt a goat over a calf? Any chance this friend's cows are going to be bred? Just something to consider...

Of course we will introduce them properly, I am very concerned for all my animals well being. In regards to the cows being bred, Rosi the old girl is retired this year and gets to loaf about for her last years and the other 2 will bw sold. The calves are 15 or so mths.
Thanks again!!

I run my goats with my horse. We had a dog get in the pasture and the horse rounded up the goats into the shed. She then stood in front of the door and stomped her foot on the ground. When the dog still didn't leave, she chased him out of the pasture. I feel a lot safer with the horse in the pasture.

Cows are too lazy and dull to do much of anything to the goats. The horses just might think they are fun toys. Goats and horses run together all the time, but with a choice, as others have said, I would go with the cattle.
