I got my chuckle for the day!!

I got up this morning, made coffee, went out on the porch to "wake up" a bit... peace and quiet, a few birds chirping..... aaahhhh the perfect time of day. All of the sudden, I hear bells jingling (on the goat collars) and running, kind of like a mini stampede. Here come the goats, all of them running like their tails are on fire, into the front yard! The one nigie I have that is very easy to miss because she is so void of personality is jumping like crazy, you know how they do when they are playing, and all of the others start too! She is running around trying to mount the other females and so the "butting of the heads" begins. My little male nigie is standing there, with that doofy lip curl thing going on trying to find someone, anyone that will stand still for 2 seconds for him. It was like a total melee in the front yard.... all playing, jumping....oh my! I started laughing so hard I thought coffee would come out of my nose! After about 30 min., they all settled down and started munching. Now, I am assuming that this means that breeding season is here, right? All I can say is that I sure needed that laugh and makes me realize that this is one of the things I love goats. Any ideas as to what is going on here? Thanks

Sounds like breeding season is on its way. Many of the goats act crazy on these cooler mornings.

Hey, after the weather we've been having, 80* mornings are cool....<grin> But we have had cooler mornings for the past week or so. The humidity is still awful though...but hey thats good! It means we *finally* got some rain!
