Post Is this to MUCH?!?!?????

Well after hearing every one talk about grain I want to know if im wasting money!!!!

I buy 25kg (55pounds) bags of 16% Dairy Ration every 2 - 2 1/2 weeks. It reallys lasts a good amount of time, but now winter is coming and then feed prices go crazy and I need to feed more to keep the does in good health.

So is 10.00 to much???? a bag?? last winter in Jan it went up to 15.89 for one bag!! With 20 animals all wanting a share of it 1 bag went weekly!!! and the feed bill was crazy!!! But was still had LONG GREEN grass in the middle of december. But they burned all energy just walking for 15 mins to it. and then back down. It was better just to suck up the cost and feed extra hay or get the grass for them!!!!

So should I get a different feed? Most places don't have any good goat feeds! or even minerals. I ordered some GOAT DAIRY RATION from another prov. and it took 5 weeks and it was just junk. I think they cleaned the trucks out and bagged it as good goat feed. And if I need feed then my animals would all be dead before their feed came!!!!

But the real point is 10.00 to much to feed them???

If you are feeding 20 animals only 10.00 of grain a week you are either lucky or the animals are not getting enough. It would also depend on the ages of animals wether they are pregnant or giving milk.

Well I get my own custom made feed for my goats and I get 1thousand lbs and it cost me 130 dollars. It is cheaper and it last me long time since i have 9 goats. And U can buy sweetfeed and it cost ours like 5 dollars for 50 lbs. But I dont like sweet feed. Soo.

The price is not too high if you can't find another reasonable substitute supply for less.
