Feed specifically for goats is basically non-existent around here - except for the Purina Goat Chow, which is "formulated for all life-stages" !

My milking goats get 16% dairy (cattle) ration, and if I'm feeling generous, alfalfa pellets and BOSS. The dry does, wethers and bucks get hay. Minerals and salt of course, and browse.

My local feed mill has actually come out with a 20% kid ration but as my kids are dam-raised, I don't feel it's necessary to supplement them.

My milkers get alfalfa pellets and whole oats on the stand. Beet pulp with a squirt of corn oil for fat, on the milkstand. Coastal bermuda hay and lots of browse. Cargill Right Now Emerald Minerals (loose cattle minerals). Clean water, changed frequently.

Babies get same without corn oil, limited beet pulp. Lots and lots of alfalfa pellets. Oats for doelings only, not males.

I am trying med. meat goat pellets this year, but the kids grow just as well on alfalfa pellets and oats.

The more browse the better.

My does get Oats,Barley, Alfalfa pellets, with little Beet Pulp and BOSS.

My Doe kids get the same with a little Medicated grain mixed in.

Buck kids and adult Bucks get Medicated grain with Alfalfa pellets.

And of course everyone gets loose minerals and hay or browse.

on the milk stand 1lb beet pulp 1/2 lb corn 1/2 lb calf manna 1/4lb black oil sunflower seed and 2 - 4 tums. milking approx 1/2 gal 1x day. growers and flushing does for breeding, get the seeds and the beetpulp. they all also get a mineral designed to be mixed in grain for growing horses, along with a new (to me) "Billy Block" available....jury is definitly still out on on my mineral program. but I have a doe that I bought that was white 2 months ago and now is turned to light paint markings with a black dorsal stripe and black face markings, so I think what I'm doing is correcting a copper deficiency problem in her. at least, somethings working. this year my preggos will only get hay and BOSS, at least thats my plan, subject to change due to goats apparent need.
