Goat Bloat

The goats were in the clover pasture all day and with all the rain we've been having it's very lush and green. One of them (a Nubian milker) has the tiniest trace of foam in the water bucket after she drinks and she just looks uncomfortable. Her flanks aren't swollen and there is no foam visible in her mouth. I'm thinking she's got a touch of the bloat from over-indulging on the wet clover.

What can I do for her? I'm pinning her up so she can't get at it as much tomorrow, but is there anything I can do about this?

Do they have acess to BAKING SODA? that will help. Give her a cup of mineral oil to help if she has any bloat.

I would give probiotics. Are they up-to-date on their CD/T shots? If not I would do it now.

Maybe before you let them out give them some hay first and let them fill up on it before going to pasture.
