Anyone have mini nubians or other Nigerian Dwarf crosses?

The Kinder thread got me curious..

We have one ND doe whom we will, of course, breed to an ND buck.

However, I have a 3/4 Nubian and three Obers that I was thinking about crossing with an ND buck, if I can find one out my way.

Anyone have experience with ND crosses? I am particularly interested in mini nubians.

I have a little bit of everything crossed with ND's. ND and pygmy, boer, and togg. I just love the colors, and some have short ears, some airplane ears and some floppy. I am looking for a nubian doe to breed my ND buck to for next year. I just love the minis!

I absolutely LOVE Mini anything, especially Mini Manchas. We have 1 Lamancha doe bred for 1st gen minis and are planning to breed 3 more. We are also going to try Mini Boers. Our meat market wants all sizes, so well muscled smaller goats would be a plus. Of course, I will still have my Purebred Nigies along with Minis.

Like I mentioned in the other thread, I have twin mini-Saanens. I don't think they'll get very big. They're about 2 1/2 months old, and much shorter than the Saanen twins who are about 4 1/2 weeks old. They're much wider, just shorter! My ND buck is a dark chamoise, but the twins came out white. A slightly "dirty" white, certainly not as bright white as the Saanens. I guess I could use them in a laundry detergent commercial - "Are your goats dingy?" LOL

This is my first time with this breeding, so we'll have to see how they turn out.

I have a little doeling out of a Nigerian dam and Nubian sire. She's adorable. She has frosted airplane ears and wattles. Normally, she has a little bleat like a Nigerian, but when she really wants to speak up, she sounds likea Nubian. Plans are to breed her to a Nubian buck to get kids that look more like Nubians.

You did a ND doe and Nubian Sire?!! Wasn't that rough on the doe?

curious if you can actually breed a mini doe to a full sized buck. Seems like a very bad idea.

I was thinking about breeding my ND buck to a Saanen doe. I think it would be great to have mini Saanen milkers. My ND buck is white so I should get some pretty kids out that cross. I'm wondering how good of a milker one might be. Any thoughts on that?

From my understanding, absolutely not a good idea. Big doe to little buck is safest.

Lyceum, I wonder... for mini Boers, why not try pygmies instead of Nigies, seeing as pygmies are a small meat goat themselves? Just a thought...
