Question Buck pen

We got a buckling and are getting another in about three weeks. We are keeping the lamancha in with are does for now since he is only 6 weeks old.
We are going to build a pen for them but is 32 by 16 to small?
We are using cattle panels and will build the shelter outside of the fence so it does not take up there yard.

Thanks Marisa

Just to give you a comparison our bachelor pad is 80x80, divided into 2. SO each pen is 40x80, and then we set up electric netting outside the gate to give them grazing/browsing space, cross fencing their field is on the "do list". Doing it this way has meant that I did not have to feed any hay or grain during the spring and summer in spite of the drought. If you can enclose a larger space and get them out everyday to graze then you'll be able to keep your feed and deworming issues/costs down. Those cattle panels aren't cheap so I can understand you may want to limit how many go into the project. Perhaps you might look at field fencing as an alternative with T posts - here a 330' roll of Red Brand was $125 last year.

Thanks Liese.
We are planning to put electric netting up for them in the spring but for know we are going let them live in this area during breeding season. and the reason we are not doing field fencing is because we want the fencing to be able to move and the cattle panels are the best for that.

Thanks Marisa
