My goat has a bald spot

I have a Lamancha doe that has a bald spot on her heck right before her shoulders right on the spine ridgeline. I thought maybe it was her collar doing it but nope, it won't go that far down her neck. I thought maybe it was where she could scratch with her horn (she has one) but no she can't reach that. It's kinda scaly and dry. I don't think it's ringworm cause I would have caught it already since I have been watching it for over a month now. It's getting larger. Doesn't seem to bother her but today I noticed it had a crack in it and the flies were bothering her there. So I put some salve on it. Anyone know what it is?

does she stick her head through the fence or something like that? I have a few 5 mon. old kids that can stick their heads through the fence in some places. they get a dry spot right where you're taking, and also sometimes one underneath the neck.

YES! She does stick her neck and stretch the fence as far as it will go out regularly! Gosh, I feel so silly for not even thinking of that. SO GLAD it wasn't anything else. Makes perfect sense!

Two of my 6 month old doelings stick their heads through the stock panals and have the same thing. It looks bad and ugly but there is nothing to it. They lean and lean to get weeds...the same weeds that are already growing in their pen but as you know the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence. Little brats.

Yep! I have put them in a temp pen before made with cattle panels to get them to eat the grass there and STILL they stick there heads through the panels to get the grass at the other side. So a bald ring around the pen but grass in the pen. GO figure! Oh the patch I am trying to keep salve on it since it doe have a split in the skin now and the flie are bothering it. Hopefully will keep it from getting flies in the neck
