We have a "commercial" herd of Boer cross goats and dairy goats. Four of our six bucks are Boer or Boer cross. Two fullbloods (only one registerable), a Boer/Saanen (50/50) and a 15/16th Boer (1/1/6 Togg/Nubian).
33 of the 72 does and doelings on the farm have known Boer in them. A couple more could easily have Boer in them. Only one fullblood doe (no papers..the previous owner renigged after I brought her back to health), a higher percentage doe and then from 76% down to 25% Boer on the rest.
Ours are for commercial meat production.
A Nubian buck over a Boer doe tends to throw a more dairy offspring than the other way around. Makes for good milking does, but the registration is an issue, I believe. Since they can't be registered with ADGA and I am not sure about the Boer registries. I believe the sires need to be Purebred or Fullblood Boer bucks for registration purposed.
