It is another with goats.
Sandy is the goat with cae. Mandy her sister is now picking on her. I have to seperate them. Sandy can not defend herself. I can split the little yard i have them in but i can not split the little barn i had built for them. Can a healthy goat live in a calf hut in the winter. I live in Ohio and the winters can get pretty bad.
Huband is not real fond of my goats. I cant ask him to build another building for one goat.

I have to stand beside Sandy while she eats her pellets with her meds in it. Or Mandy will butt her away. Mandy has her own pellets but of course she wants Sandys also. then i have to spread the hay in three different piles. But Mandy still runs Sandy off at every pile. And Mandy runs Sandy out of the barn all of the time. I am so mad at that goat.

I have no other building to seperate them.

this probably will not be the answer you are seeking and hoping to get. if that positive doe would be mine i would butcher her before winter comes. saves you and her a lot of stress. it sounds like she is already symptomatic and winter and the need to fight for the food will only worsen the situation and her health.
if your husband is not fond of the goats now, it will not go better with the extra care a sick goat needs.
do your self a favor, be smart and get rid of her.
there are so many healthy goats out there.

I believe that you are right. But i did find a way to seperate them. So for now things are better. Except they cried for each other. Sandy seems more relaxed being by herself though. Crying only lasted a hour or so.

I realize I will have to eventually put her down but as long as she is not showing any pain I will wait. Thanks.
