when can new kid go in with older kid?

We have a little buck kid who just turned two weeks old. When can we move him in with a four month old doeling? He is a healthy, spunky little guy. She is our doeling who was attacked by a dog...so she is a bit smaller and less active than a normal doeling of her age. But she is mending well, is healthy and happy, has no serious wounds anymore. They have been together a little and seem to both play and butt each other equally.

Is he old enough to move in with her?

Yes, but make sure he gets castrated asap if he's not breeding quality. If he is breeding quality, he should be separated from all does at 10 weeks.

Make sure also that he and her are on cocci prevention. She will have better immunity to worms and cocci than he, being older, her poop then can overwhelm his small system. We are much more concerned with disease spread of older kids to younger kids, than them picking on each other. But once you see him pull out his penis, get him out of the pen. Vicki

Well said. At least they'll have some time together, though. I didn't want Grace to be alone but didn't want her to go in with the big girls yet. She's had such a tough time of it. She's doing great now....but I know she'll be picked on since she'd be the smallest. This way, she'll have someone more her own size.
