Bag up from stomach down or teats up??

Funny question.....I've been trying to convince my husband that you notice a goat bagging up in the actual udder itself and not in the teats. However, he is convinced we have a doe bagging up b/c one of her teats has this little poochy spot in it...right where the bag meets the teat and this is only on one side. I have felt her there before and she never had any lumps or anything and she has been dry for quite some time. So, who is right? Sorry, I haven't had my hands on her udder for a while as it is quite an ordeal to catch her!! LOL!!

If she's bagging up, she'll bag up in the udder first - evenly, not in lumps! That sounds to me as if she's had an injury - maybe somebody headbutted her hard.

Typical guy!

That is what I thought. I really need to feel that spot. The way they beat each other up, nothing would suprise me!! It could be a bit of scar tissue then. I hope, whatever it is, that is doesn't cause her any problems!!

But they do fill up the bottom of their udder, down by their teats first.....fore udder and rear udder last....foreudder and rear udder is also where the milk comes out of first....just ask any of us who have tried to relieve a doe who is too full at a show...you are milking away her rear udder! vicki
