goat proof latch?

One of our goats has figured out how to open the hook and eye latch on the gate. This has resulted in a HUGE mess in the milk house twice. Need your recommendations on goat proof latches.

Rose, I use many different types of securing methods...the one you may like the best is using dog collars where the two ends snap together. These are the same type collar I use on my goats every day. I also use black strap rubber bungee type straps to hold my gates shut and then even use a brass snap clip to also lock the gate...The rubber straps act as an automatic gate closer...Works for me

What a pain in the neck, huh?! I posted recently asking for help because I'm so tired of having to use two hands to get in and out of every area on my property. I have snaps and bungee cords on every gate.

snaps or caribiners with chains on everything here. anything that is simple for you to undo is just as simple for the goats.

Caribiners do work, but one of my goats got lucky and managed to open one so when they are used tighten up on the "eyes" they connect to , don't leave a lot of wiggle room so the animal can keep moving the gate around.

Ive had good luck with this style They come in different sizes and are cheap. Whether or not they will work for you will depend on how your gate is built
