Doe actiing very strange, any ideas?

I have a Lamancha doe who, 3-4 days ago when i went to milk she kept kneeling on her front legs but wouldn't put her back end down. She stopped doing that as far as I know but she is acting very skittish and doesn't come running for grain. She also keeps standing next to a wall, seems to always be her right side up against the wall. She gets all nervous and will turn in a circle, not continuous, but every once in awhile. Do you think she could have an ear infection that is messing with her equilibrium? I wormed her this morning just in case.

I think you should consider the possibility that she may have something neurological going on, such as listeriosis. For that reason, I would not consume her milk, and I would seperate her from the rest of the herd until the cause of her illness is determined. This is also a situation in which I would call the vet, because your lives are at risk, not just hers, if she has listeria.

Check her temp.

I lost a wether to listeriosis and it started with a 106.5 temp. If this is the case I would begin treatment ASAP.

It could be either listeria or polioencephalamacia. Take her temperature. With listeria they have a fever and the treatment is antibiotics. For polio, no temp and it is treated with Thiamin and Banamine. In either case, contact your vet as she will require a prescription for the meds.
